i havent any experience of Textar but i would say from what i read on the website they should be OK.
I do alot of technical work for automotive OEM suppliers and it seems to me (very rough approximation) that only a few companies supply parts but use many different brand names.
Now how this is relevant to the Textar pads - these look like the own brand of TMD Friction who also do the Mintex brand and that is a company name that i know about for pads from rallying.
So i would say that for the price they would be pretty good - but as people have been saying you pays your money you takes your risks...

It all depends on the type of driving you do! all pads in this day and age are tested and TUV approved, so they do the job!
i do plenty of motorway driving and backstreet blasting and im more than happy with my setup. set of ebc standard discs - £127 fr the pair and OMP pads £40 ebay job!
yes forodos are very good, but the original from factory didnt come with them. comes down to how quickly you abuse them.

Good choice on the Ferodo's - thats what I have at the moment.
Why anyone in their right mind would buy a set of £17 brake pads I'll never know... Fair enough if you drive a ford ka or a micra but for a LCR with brembo's on the front that's just retarded. Same goes with tyres as well.

For £17 I'd have em as get you home pads, but certainly not skimp on friction material deliberately
but whats to say just cos they have decided to not charge inflated charges they have to be crap?
when there are people like you who are just willing to pay what ever price anyone throws at them thats why companies can get away with charging more and more
buy cheap brakes and you want you head examined.

No brake pad that states they are designed to suit a particular type of car/brake can not possibly be ****!!!!
otherwise companies would getting suied left right and centre
fair enough they might not be as good as others but they will still do the job designed to do.
just because something has a cheap price tag does not make something crap.
Companies apply a price that is a competative price , any brake pad will be made for a very minimal amount but companies put mark ups on items in order to make a profit to suit demand

Lend me your car, a two mile straight with a concrete bollard at the end & some cheap ass pads.
I'll do 0-100-0 a couple of times & then brake really late for the bollards.....
but thats is my point how do YOU know they are ****!!!!
you dont you assume they are because someone has not afixed an expensive price tag , when you can prove to me that they are shiter than standard pads then i will accept it
why do they put a pad on that will cost no more than the said pads

Well got the Ds2500's fitted last night - I followed the guide from the knowledge base and it was VERY easy... possibly even easier than normal VAG callipers!
Took a few laps around Sainsbury's car park to start the bedding in process and they feel good already so I look forward to how they'll feel after a few more miles

BECAUSE PEOPLE HAVE USED CHEAP PADS (mintex plane jane pads for example) and found they wore out fast, ruined disks, and faded like a mofo.
some peeps tried a range of galfer pads also, and found issues on wear etc.
like m0rk suggests... its hard use, high speed stops which show quality from non quality pads... and when they fade away from you when you least want it, you will have plenty of time to reflect on the poor performing pads once they dont stop you in time.
There's a good reason DS2500's for example get mentioned a lot. Because there are a lot of people running them and impressed with their performance over OE.
Reg90 approved pads only need to be +/-15% of OE friction level. they can easily be -15% of OE by that statement.

Cheap pads have been tried by people before like Cupra_Rog and the cheapo Mintex pads, everyone said 'Oooh Mintex they must be great' but no they lasted one day (track day admittedly) the pads faded badly then showered his rims in dust and I recall a video where puff's of brake dust were visable under braking, in the end they fell apart......luckily he took spares and changed to some other pads to get him home.
In my experience the OEM pads aren't up to the job either......I was never impressed by the Brembo's with those pads

Through thousands of miles of driving I discovred the addition of Performance Friction carbon Metallic pads and then a set of Ferrodo DS2500's gave the LCR the stopping power it needed
