Brake Switch

Basically, my brake switch needs replacing as it keeps blowing the rear driverside brake bulb. Ive been quoted £60 and nearly fainted, then got quoted £80 from a VW Dealership. The part costs £7.

Is it easy enough to do yourself? Or should i take it to an independent?

Hi Mate
They are only approx £7 to get the part
There is ANOTHER supersession for it
Check with the dealer for your newest part number
Have a go yourself you never know

i have heard they are a ******* to fit!!!! so fouldnt recomend doin urself!!!

why on earth would a faulty switch make bulbs blow ????

the only reason I can think of is if the bulbs are flickering due to the faulty switch, if this is this the case it would affect all of the brakelights

Tried checking the earth, or cables for shorting?

Ill take it into a trusted independent soon. Will VAG COM show whats going wrong?
