Brake upgrade?

Been contemplating a brake upgrade for a while and had been thinking about going for audi tt front set up. Someone suggested that I should just uprade my pads and see how that works.

Any thoughts/experiences folks?

I would go for the 312mm set up

you will need

312 brakes
pads
Callipers and carriers

Will get from an a3/4 i think, tt

go 312mm they are so much better! you will spend near 120 maybe more getting uprated discs and pads. half way to a set off new tt ones

the 312mm brakes are pritty good ive been in ad lavs car with this upgrade and they do a good job!

Thanks very much, cant afford to fling money at the car as getting married this year but really think it could benefit from a brake upgrade.

I'm selling mine mate as I don't need them on the new car.

Audi TT calipers & carriers PLUS drilled and grooved disks from Dubsports AND pads.

Might have done about 2k miles on them so they are pretty much new.

Oh and it's a very easy job to change them!

How much would you be after inc postage?

With the discs being cross drilled and grooved from Dubsports - so not the standard VW discs all in I am looking for around £200 plus pnp.

I'd have to check the pnp though so if the price sounds Ok to you I'll give you a price for pnp as well.

Sounds ok, I take it they dont require any modification to fit on a 07 FR tdi? Id appreciate a price with PP ( as cheap as poss as I said im getting married this year). Cheers.

OK mate I'll check weight tonight and PM you with further details.

My understanding (and you can check in the FAQ section) is that on the FR (TDI or Petrol) it is pretty much just a swap.

Take wheel off, remove old brake caliper WITH carrier, undo Philips screw to get disc off.

Then put new disc on, put new carriers on WITHOUT calipers, then put calipers on with the brake pads, bleed system.

That's about it, and if you want to make bleeding easier I suggest you clamp your brake hose with mole grips so that fluid doesn't come out. Then you can bleed brakes from the nipple. Obviously best bleeding is done at a garage

You will also get a pair of brake lines with my brakes, they were from the TT originally but you don't need to use them.

Hope I've given you a good picture of how it's done.....roughly
