Guys
unavoidably drove through a large puddle at speed yesterday pretty much straight after get a brake warning light up on the dash and its stayed on? any ideas?

I'm thinking contact or abs sensor or something, puddle was on the passenger side. Anything I should be looking for. I havent got vag.com and cant get to a friends who has probably until after Christmas.
brakes are working fine by the way.

cheers

guys what am I looking for brake sensor wise, light still on and unsure where brake sensor is ? is it attached to caliper. was thinking of disconnecting and using some electrical cleaner. help appreciated.

If its the brake pad warning light, its on the passenger side on the inner pad. this WILL NOT show up a fault code. Open the plug i expect its wet, If not you can go into the soft coding on the instruments and turn it off. I have.

Which light is coming on? use this diagram for reference . . .

18 is ABS, and usually means a sensor fault if nothing's been changed.
19 is handbrake/brake fluid, usually means low fluid level
20 is brake pad wear. There is a link in the nearside pad which gets worn through as the pad wears.

If it's brake pad wear then either your pads have really worn down or the plug has come undone, or there is a break in the wiring. Get the nearside front wheel off and have a look.

Cheers guys ill have a look on my day off it's light 20 in the diagram, i think the pads are fine but i'll give it all the once over while the wheel is off.

cheers
