You're V-Band exhaust aren't you? It's very simple once the exhaust is off. I welded the nuts on the underside to make them captive so that if i wanted to ever remove the shifter for some reason I wouldn't have to remove the exhaust again. Hardest bit for me was drilling the hole in the bulkhead. Half a days work I'd say.

Just paid for my two harnesses, all the metal needed for fitting the seat bars and a deposit on my Peloquin LSD

Getting excited now :D

Estimated two months before she's back on the road and ready so some track action.

Pics of mine are in my thread if you need a look, i know when alex fitted his shifter inside he made 2 new holes further forward on the shifter obviously so it could sit further back so its worth having a look at his thread too

Pretty sure I will be able to solve this with a short shifter which has a pull up collar so my hand will be at the back/ behind the gear knob when engaging reverse. We'll see, if it needs adjusting then it'll be sorted.

Hi Joe,

Coming along well man

Whats your fueling setup? Standard in tank pump with inline helper?

have you got a surge tank or accumulator in there also?

I presume the red belts are sold from the car? if not dibs!

and lastly, how where the bushes to fit? big difference? PFR85-915B?

Thanks Jonny,

I have a standard in-tank pump, though it needs to be healthy. Then a Walbro 255lph inline mounted on the chassis leg next to the cambelt. In hindsight I would of gone with A Bosch 044 because they're better for running at higher pressure, if you wanted to go with 4bar FPR.

No surge tank or accumulator in there, didn't see the need.

Belts have gone I'm afraid, sold them through Facebook to a member on here... small world.

Fitting the bushes were easy once I left them in the freezer overnight and used tonnes of grease and 2 metal plates with a threaded rod through the middle in order to clamp the bush in. Don't use a vice unless you have a huge one as they don't seem to open enough/ give even pressure. Haven't driven the car yet so can't comment on bushes but they look SOLID! PFR85-915B is the correct part number for the black compound version on the bushes.

Finally got my wheels back, looking lovely! Pictures really do them no justice. The colour in the end was Rota Bronze - in the pictures they just look like anthracite but they have a real gold/bronze tinge to them.

You gained much clearance to the radio by fitting the short shifter?

Just mount the box further back, I have no problems atall

Seems alright now guys. Also because it's a lift up reverse I'm pushing the gearknob from behind rather than hand over the top of it pushing it down (fingers used to catch facia).

Need to adjust a few things as it's now looser than OEM shifter, maybe because it's heavier? Who knows, but I need to look into it.

Best get back to getting the oil cooler fitted :)

Got the oil cooler fitted in the end and Mocal thermostatic sandwich plate. Ditched the OEM heat exchanger as it was just going to be too tight with both coolers there. I've mounted it in a place which is going to get maximum air so shouldn't have to worry too much.

Absolute ball ache getting this thing in though. If I didn't get it second hand I would of opted for a slightly smaller one. Ended up removing the rest of the air con system in order to get it in.

Got the two back wheels on so I could jack up the front to get the gearbox out

What did everyone do about the coolant lines which go to the heat OEM heat exchanger?

Looking good mate, might look into an oil cooler some time, my oil temp was through the roof when i went round the nurburgring, i weren't going all out either lol

Youll be getting a bdm sump soon i suspect?

Thanks, I lightened the exhaust my removing the bolts which hold it in place.

Defo for the cooler, I managed to get it somewhere where it's going to get max air flow. Though I would get a smaller one!!

I have a baffled sump ;)

Had an awesome weekend. Alex, very kindly, came over to weld in my seat bars and give me my goodies... here's how we got on

As you can see a little more grinding required to remove the final pieces of metal
