BTCC 280bhp TDI

Hi folks,

Im not really into it, but my dad was watching the BTCC on at the weekend and i spotted familiar looking car. I found its the same 2.0TDI in the standard FR but modified to produce 280bhp.

All i have been able to find out about the mods are a larger turbo & inter cooler.

Has anybody tuned up a standard TDI to that sort of level?

I'm not planning on doing it, im just curious!

I can guarantee that another difference will be that it doesn't have a DPF!

Thats sort of the case.

I did find that they do have a DPF but its made by DOW Automotive, not the VAG standard one. They supposedly have 30%-50% less restriction to the flow over standard ones but yield the same reduction in soot.
