How much would you expect to pay for an LCR bonnet and front bumper respray?

I've got a few stone chips and that I'm keen to get shot of...

Obviously I'll be taking it to a good body shop to carry out the work.

Sorry if this has been posted in the incorrect area...

Cost me 220 squids to get my bonnet resprayed last week at a Seat dealership after a stone chip right in it's centre.

Cracking job though...no probs with the colour match :D

Never base your decision on price alone - you get what you pay for !!

The dealership I used were not the cheapest...But I trusted them with the job !

BTW Moff...I see by your sig....you really got it BAD !! :wtf:

Yea I Know buddy, but I've spent so much on this car ..

I didn't want any mistakes !

The guy a few doors up from me works for an accident repair place - he said that painters hate silver, as it's really hard to match with the rest of the bodywork

I've heard some real horror stories with cheap jobs - didn't want to take any chances....My NOMAD Pillar & gauges will have to wait a bit longer !

Silver is hard to match - heard from the mouth of a dozen pro sprayers

Silver is a hard colour to match, hope I don't have to sort out my Luna any time soon.
Also Ovni is another difficult colour to match up.

My local guy charges £120 per panel, but to have the front wings blown in when I had the bonnet and bumper of my Corrado done he only charged £60, so it was £300 to [retty much sort the whole front end.

Wouldn't it be worth waiting till warmer weather and then there's last chance of encountering gritted roads?

Aftermarket paints are much softer than OEM so it;s a long slippery slope once you start having paintwork done, within 12 months it will be road rash city, even worse than before.

I'd consider living with it until your ready for selling.

i have to laugh at the " silver is the hardest to match" quotes, cos every car i've had they all say the exact same. red xr2i, bengal yellow cupra sport ibiza and black LCR. all greeted with a shake of the head and a big sigh before the immortal " blah blah it'll cost a bit more cos BLANK is one of the hardest colours to match in, its a bloody nightmare etc etc.

Probably also worth mentioning that Audi Platinum Grey is a different colour to the Seat one... not had any direct experience of this my self but read it on here somewhere and thought it worth while to make a mental note!

A decent sprayer should be able to match it so long as he follows the correct primer colour, and has the exact same paint.

As I said earlier I can get a bonnet, bumper and wings blown in for £300 locally. I can put you in touch if you want to travel up, its not "that" far from you, but you're probably better off trying to find a good body shop near you mate.
