Hi

Pretty fed up of going through lots of front tyres, just checked them today as the car has been wheelspinning lots with hardly any effort and the inside of the front tyres are down to threads
the rest of the tyre has boat loads of tread left on it, so i really need to get them sorted

from all the reading i've done, i need to try and get the camber adjusted on them, but from the sounds of it, not a simple job, so does anyone know where in south wales i can get the car sorted? somewhere that knows what they are going on about, and have seen this issue before?

standard garages with dish plate tracking say there is nothing wrong with it, but clearly there is.

thanks all

Take it somewhere where they have the laser alignment system!

Adjusting the camber is pretty straight forward. Once the car is jacked up, look at the end of the wishbone near the brake disc and you should see 3 bolts in a triangle. This is where the wishbone fixes to the ball joint. Loosen these (dont remove) and then push tyre either towards or away from engine and then re-tighten.

protyre are good, they have a branch in bristol, my tracking was done on friday, they were very good and cheap. £25 inc vat, that was all done by laser and computer, you also get a print out before and after, cant recommend the enough.

I sort of have the same problem, its not that bad at the moment but its starting to wear. Anyway I had my car tracking done at Wheels In Motion nr Aylesbury. Really good place and the guy knows what hes talking about. He adjusted the front camber as much as he could as its lowered -dont think this helps much either.
He mentioned that the best solution was to get a camber kit to stop excessive wear. The one that was best suited was Ingalls ball joint adjuster (i think its this one):

Would be good to know if anyone has used this before, or what other solutions they have to a lowered car for camber adjustment.

Try asking on this forum or just searching around.

They will tell you who to go see and who will rip you off.

It is run by tony who does have a garage that specialises in geometry. But is always willing to help and will happily recommend others across the country.
