hi guys had my ibiza 1.2 04 plate now for a few weeks and overall im impressed with the car ,got the car at a very good price mainly due to the previous owner not looking after it particularly well, there is a really bad scuff mark around one of the round airvents and although it is just cosmeticly unsightly its begining to bug me,is it possible to sand down the scuff and paint spray the damaged area or do i need to buy a new trim.if it is possible can anybody suggest what spray paint and sand paper to use.
also my boot wont lock or unlock with the remote, before i try and try and remove the trim to see if anything is mechanically wrong can somebbody explain how to programme the remote to open the boot.any help wwould be much appreciated

that boot problem sounds like some kind of electrical fault, does it work when you press the unlock button in the drivers door?

as for trim i'm in the same boat, it looks like somebody tried to remove one of my vents with a stanley knife as it's pretty marred around the vent trim... i've just decided to lump it and concentrate on making the damn thing go as fast as it can go ;)

Well, i can help you on painiting stuff! You can paint it, but i guess you will need to go to a seat dealer and get some of the original paint, or to a paint shop with a sample and tell them to make some like it (second one is cheaper, but colour may not be exactly the same).

About sand paper, you could start with some 400 or 600 one. It should leave very very tiny scratches so the paint will stay, but if you see it does make too big scratches, try a higher one. Anyway i think that these will do fine on plastic.

And if you need to repair something, you could use some fiber paste (dont know if its called that way, in spanish its "pasta de fibra de vidrio"), that you can easily work with sand paper when it gets dry.

I am assuming you have some painting skills, since this requires them. Else let me know and i will try to help you a little more.
