i changed my airfilter from the standard airbox assembly to a universal mushroom filter and it almost sounds like an atmospheric DV is under bonnet. You can hear the turbo whistle like mad when accelerating hard too.

Yes i know it can sound taky but for a first turbo car for me ive gota have it till im fedup with it!
I already have the 007p and a CDA airbox and you can here it nicely. I tried putting a normal twin piston dv on and got the safe mode ect. Been looking at the split r for a while but herd you have to have them set up? Might try this and taking the sound proofing out is a good idea. Cheers for the help guys

I bought a Forge Split-R and i thought it sound a bit quiet in the beginning so i also bought an air cone filter and then everything has changed (much, much louder) ;D. After some time i've checked my car with a vag com and i i had a fault code saying something about a leak between a DV and turbo (check DV) so i changed my split R to fully recirc setup thinking that maybe this may solve the problem. After that i havent really noticed any difference in sound (still very loud) ... but unfortunatelly i still have this fault code even after reseting :(.
