Okay so last week i noticed my car was down on power. Stopped to have a luck and found that the breather hose had come off on the rocker cover and spurted oil everywhere.

After that i scanned the car ;

16490 - Manifold / Barometric Pressure Sensor (G71) / (F96): Implausible Signal
P0106 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

After this the car has loss of power, its like if you rev it fully its slower than having part throttle :S

Cleaned the MAP sensor still throwing the code up

Bought a sensor still throwing the code up

Scanned the car again and got

6556 - Fuel Trim: System Too Rich: Bank 1
P0172 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

4 days later driving the car home form work at midnight going round a roundabout press the pedal to accelerate off the car dies pushed car into lay by and started it and sounded awful, engine light flashing and wouldn't rev past 3k. anyway left the ignition off for 2 minutes then started back up and would rev properly but still lack of power and jerking

So i scanned it in the morning and come up with

16687 - Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected
P0301 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

Changed the plugs for the old ones and car still jerking, lack of power

then i took the end Cam covers off and got some photos of them they look in the same place to me so do this rule out timing issues ?

Since then my car has now developed a whistle its worse when its cold but when the car gets up to temp the whistle goes away

Also when my car is cold when letting off the accelerator the engine is very violent "engine brakes " really hard.

I then ordered 3 coil packs off ebay and they came today so i fitted them today and still the jerking and lack of power it also died on me as well when test driving it car engine was warm. as i was so frustrated when the i started the car the engine light kept flashing so i just kept revving the car and eventually it revved past 3k and could drive it home

I got home and scanned the car and got this

VAG-COM Version: Release 311.2-N

Control Module Part Number: 03E 906 033 D
Component and/or Version: 1,2l/4V SIMOS3 G00HS4342

Additional Info: VSSZZZ6LZ2R043973 SEZ7Z0B1577440
6 Faults Found:
16490 - Manifold / Barometric Pressure Sensor (G71) / (F96): Implausible Signal
P0106 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16686 - Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected
P0302 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16885 - Vehicle Speed Sensor: Implausible Signal
P0501 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

P0301 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16684 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
P0300 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

Everytime the car dies i get

16885 - Vehicle Speed Sensor: Implausible Signal
P0501 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

never any other time

To sum up the syptoms:

Loss of power
Increased fuel consumption
Engine temp reaches 90 degrees in about quarter of a mile ( took ages before)
Cutting out Happened 3 times
Jerking on steady throttle (quite violent)
Increased Induction noise
The car idles fine

Please help as the last thing i need is to spend more money on it at a garage

I'm guessing from the buying the 3 coil packs that the car is a 1.2 yeah? If so, I've been suffering from the juddering at low speed/revs with mine aswell. I put mine on a Diagnostics and it turned out to be the EGR valve. Try cleaning/replacing that fella!

Let me know how it goes!

Turned out the egr was loose making the car run lean but think it was the egr valve that was making it jerk , but the car running hot and lean destroyed the cat and blocked the exhaust causing missfires , £420 later and its sorted :/ cars never felt better so its sort of worth it lol
