The reason it came on at cold start was the car was hot when parked up and the ignition hadn't been turned on again so that was the first chance to show the error.

Pump fitted. If it for some reason isn't the pump how soon will if be before eml.comes on. Ive used car twice now 3 hours apart and didnt hold back on throttle, so far light is still off. When I removed pump there is something rattling inside, gonna strip it and have look.

The impeller was seized on mine!
You'd know within a day or so. When the cars warm and you switch off you can feel if the pumps running.
It'll be sorted now and at a cheaper price

Mate no way impeller can seize it sits on magnetic coil totally sealed unit ie. One moving part! Which cant fail unless rusted

How have you gon't on with this and how easy is it to swap as i might have the same problem. I had a coolant fault that i cleared and came back after a long run and on starting the engine i will make sure it's the right code before i commit to buying nay parts though.

Car is sorted mate had first fault code as coolant pump open circuit I cleared it and it came straight back on. Checked the code again but only had a universal scanner which gave code 9754 which is exactly same fault. I ordered pump after looking at code on faulty pump. V easy to fit just take undertray off and its right in front of sump. Clamped coolant pipes and removed pump then fit the new one. Two pipes and a connector. My pump came with new bracket attatched which I removed as its easier using existing one. Only one minor prob is I used pliers to remove 3 torx screws that hold pump to bracket as no room to get one if them out.
