Could well be boost leak...or possibly the DV if you're running the standard bosch unit.

DV upgrade is one of the 1st that most people do...favorite unit is the Forge 007P. May be worth swapping that out first.

As for boost leak, can be a pain to identify but basically boils down to checking pipes are sealed ok.

Perhaps put a request up in the VAG-COM section to see if anyone near you can check your car for fault codes, that will hopefully identify a cause.

I once unplugged my maf and drove it for a mile or so to see what it was like - basically the turbo was not kicking in at all. Sounds exactly like yours. Check your maf out - unplug and plug back in a few times, maybe get some dielectric grease on it. Otherwise you may need a new one?

Luke has a TDI so they dont have DVs, so dont worry about what dmmsta said about that part.
