What mitts do you guys use to clean your motors. I keep stupidly buying the halfords sheepkin mitt, but this seems to be made very badly and rips often.

I was looking at either the Meguiars Lambswool Wash Mitt or Meguiars Microfibre Wash Mitt.

Anyone know if one is more suited to clean bodywork etc. I have the microfibre one for doing wheels and it hasnt ripped once:clap: - take not halfords [:@]

I use the one by serious performance, you get a pack of 3 for £16.95, they wash ok too

Im liking the 3 pack value of these. Do they last a while - halfords version is like using a paper bag, just fall apart

I rate the wash shmitt:

Just looks like you're washing your car with a big egg on your hand. :)

I was under the impression foam held all the dirt when you wash "the mottaa" so always used a sheepskin one hmmm....

I've always bought the halfords mitt. They usually last me about 6 months before falling apart.

TBH I cant see there being much difference between the brands apart from the packaging.

Yep, I keep the mitt in a plastic bag when not in use, keeps it moist, I think its the regular drying out/wetting/drying out etc etc which shortens their life.

plus I wash them out too, but that may not have any real bonus to their life span ??

Thats the one i have. If you can afford to and are into detailing then get that for the top half of the car and the microfiber for the bottom half.

Like the thumb on that, good getting round side mirrors and spoiler etc....

Although the pack that Jace recommended is a 3 pack hmmmmmm value for money or Sonus hmmmm

Nice idea about keeping it damp, the insides always seem to stick together when they dried out. I keep all my other cloths in freezer bags, so that makes sense.

I (also) use a Meguiars Lambswool Wash Mitt .
Rinsing it under a cold tap afterwards I find great to remove any deep grit/grime. Helps keeps it in great condition. It does an excellent job, been using mine for a couple of months, still looking/working like new!

Also use the Meguiars microfibre cloth to dry my car. Removes droplets better than a sponge! :D

ive used several of Halfords lambs wool mitts on my paint work and i really like them, at the time Megs didnt have an alternative to it, so ive stuck to it.

For my wheels and other really dirty parts i use a Megs microfibre mitt, i cant really find fault with it either, but i think id rather use lambs wool for the paint work.
