Hi all,

While queing up at a petrol station, I noticed something hit the floor mat on the drivers side.
Haven't got a clue what it is, some sort of black metal clip. Slightly worried as this clip had grease all over it. I can only imagine it's come from under the steering column/pedal box assembly or thereabouts.

It's about 40mm long and about 25mm wide and the part no. is 1H0 721 159.

Has anyone got any idea where this part goes? I had a good look yesterday but I haven't got a clue.

If I can source a digital camera then I'll try and host some pics.

Getting paranoid that something terrible's gonna happen when driving it now.

Cheers in advance.

Cheers guys. I'll have another look under there later on this evening. I did notice something under there (pedal box assembly) on Sunday. It looks like all the pedals slide onto this shaft and on the clutch side there's a small bracket type thing that fits over a silver bolt of some kind which seems to hold everything in place. I think this clip somehow attaches to this bracket (same type of metal) but I couldn't figure out how. I'll have another go this evening.

I'll get a picture of it to post on here at some point today as well.

Cheers again.
