guys, my new FR 170 Cr is in transit and will get the aero kit fitted once it arrives at my dealer.
i have wanted the centre exit backbox off the K1 petrol car fitting since day one.

the dealer is ordering bodykit parts as we speak and tells me "Just been informed from parts there is no longer a centre exhaust available for the diesel fr, only 1 either side of the car. Will you get back to me reference this when its convient for you."

i didnt think a centre exit was ever made specifically for the FR tdi but surely the petrol K1 car back box will be fine, yeah?

please offer advice asap

thanks in advance

I suggest you speak to one of the specialist aftermarket exhaust companies that sponsor this website and understnad what is required.

I suspect they are all the same underneath but with will need a different centre section to take you to the centre exit exhaust I believe.

Find out from them, it may not be an option for the tdi, not sure?

I am no expert though!

well i hear wot your saying mate and it makes sense, but im basing my choice on seeng the underneath of a 170pd FR at the dealers, it was raised upn ramps for sale and i lppked under it and the k1 backbox was clearly mmuch newer than the car itself-the aero kit was fitted to a low mileage car you see.
So it would seem that the pd170 was ok with K1 backbox

had the Seat dealer on to me about my Leon, saying teh single exit exhaust is not available for teh new facelift model withteh common rail tdi engine.
i could push them to fit the petrol car K1 centre backbox but i get the feeling they'll start telling me that it will void the warranty...or at least if i went back with a prob they'd give me the "oh well you fitted that petrol engine exhaust and we advised against it...."
so i 'll probably end up with a dual exit, one either side.

called in to dealer to discuss on my way home from airport (norway offshore trip) and amazingly my car had JUST rolled off teh transporter! it was front of a que of 3 cars that were being unloaded. great timing eh!

i had a look-see and sat in it etc...was well happy.

probs look at may 1st collection and that gives them time to fit aerokit etc....

I'm been running with NO back box for the last 3 months just open pipe quicker turbo spool up. ........................... slight burble at startup then "normal" noise - you could then go to ANY exhaust centre and get it made up using the K1?petrol centre exit back skirt [ im assuming that we are talking TDI's you cannot do this with Petrol engine too much noise.]

NICE ONE!! sounds good spooling up faster eh....
i have no problems getting this K1 to fit but id be enraged if i did it to find out later the dealer is 'funny' with regards to any warranty claims...
modified it myself etc etc...
think im leaning towards the dual exit jobbie and that keeps things sweet...

ps yeah were talking tdi.

interestingly though, Seat listed a centre exit for the PD170 tdi (im guessing it was identical to the K1 petrol backbox) but they have removed that choice on the CR170 tdi lump....

you watch i'll get the dual exit then find out they release a centre exit in 6 months time for the CR170....aaarrgrghhh!!
