I had the usual random missfire issue under load with no errors on vag com... chagned the plugs and great solved it... that was a couple fo weeks back, now with this colder weather, worse at night, its started again, not a severe but stil no errors... could the injectors just be bunged up? or what?

you cant really without doing alot of messing about until it logs a fault code
if i were you i would get a spare coilpack now as it sounds like it's just a matter of time before it dies. Same thing happened to mine

Euro Car Parts coil packs for the 1.8t ibiza part number 413 44 0480....... made by beru....... this is the correct part number the part number that is listed on the Euro Car Parts website is not the correct one.
Or you could go to seat but they are sometimes out of stoke with coilpacks

Ian would check coilpacks are pushed on plugs fully first, as with them being taken off to change plugs, one may have rode off a sparkplug slightly.

Saying that as had this happen on mine before xmas, no fault codes at first, then showed misfire on no4.
Noticed coilpack wasn't pushed on properly when checking the plugs (plugs were meant to have been changed by a dealer before bought it was checkin they had been changed and they had).
Tightened the plugs up and reattached coilpacks fully. Fault went straight away and hasn't come back.

Don't always assume its a dying coilpack, mine wasn't.

Noticed another members not fully on aswell today at a meet.

bit of a stupid question but how would some one know if it's not on right as they are bolted down? ive got a problem where on idle the car keeps changing revs so im looking into coil packs also?

well its still not showing errors on vagcom which leads me to believe plugs again, maybe i got a dodgy batch, think ill get some bosh super 4's today and try them

sounds like the maf not the coilpacks...however cold weather makes strange things happen. how does it act once its warmed up?

the coil pack just sits on the spark plug, if it werent correct then the spark plug wouldnt spark and you'd be running on 3 or less cylinders. with the bolt down ones, if its bolted down fully then its on

if the engine isnt misfiring then its not your coils or plugs and this doesnt reflect on idle speeds
common sense i would have thought

I only thought this as when i looked at my plugs and put the coil packs back on the car does seem right after. worse then when it was before i touched them.. im getting the maf changed on wednesday :D

it will still idle odd when the engine is warm but it's not every time the car is running..

when mine was being a git, i was misfiring under load alot but no fault codes appeared so i thought it was TCS cutting fuel or something! this went on weeks and nobody on here could tell me what it was

then i drove all the 150miles to santa pod and what happened?? yep light started flashing. luckily i took my laptop. car held together for the day even while i abused it on the strip. got me home fine. swapped the plugs and problem was gone... no more missing under load. until a few days later when it missed again, but just before i could cry in worry that there was something wrong with my car and it wasnt the plugs...the car **** itself and was running on 3. swapped coil, job done! following week another one went.

i swapped that one, job done! again! keep 2 in my garage ready for when the other 2 originals on the car die
