Hi everyone, got some good news for you all,

First off, if you have work done at a normal non-manufacturers garage any parts bought for your car will normally be bought off, as example, seat... they will charge 50% more for the part so i was advised to buy my parts from seat myself and then the garage will fit them thus saving me 50%.

I had my temperature sensor go on me last week, so again i went to a garage to have it fixed, then i got talking to a man who works for seat and knew who supplied seat with parts and said i would get them cheaper still buying from them, here’s my findings:

For this sensor i needed from:

Normal garage: - £42.75p
Seat: - £28.50p
Supplier: -...£7.50p!

They do all electronic bits for any vag car, not sure about others but well worth a call, number is below, hope this is a bit help to you all!

I am assuming then that these huge cost saving parts are not genuine VW.
Not trying to pi** on your chips here Dave but certain none gen parts are not worth the saving.

Well they supply seat.... its all bosch stuff so yeah its all genuine, just warrented by bosch not seat and it wouldnt be warrented anyway if you dont have it fitted at seat.

Seat parts are warranted regardless of who fits them, they will cover the labour under warranty if there fitted by a seat main dealer though (obviously it has to be found that the supplied part is faulty in the first place though)

You'd be very surprised what andrew pages can get hold of and just how cheap they can be. I priced up a wiper motor for an alhambra (with a voltage regulator and control unit built in). local dealer prices ranged from £275+ so i rang pages... the price was £210inc VAT, they had one at another branch so i asked them to order it so i could take a look just to make sure and to my delight it was a genuine BOSCH unit with the motor and control unit included and even had the vag part numbers stamped on it like the origional part!!! plus it has a 12month warrenty RESULT!!!

Yeah thats what am sayin anyways i didnt want to cuase a debate about it, they are cheap reliable parts, just wanted to pass the word on.

Its a good heads up Derek!
Some of us will no doubt prefer to use Seat stuff particularly if you can get it from TPS as I do. Its defo genuine stuff and at the right price!

Andrew Page are a big chain of Motor Factors in the North of England. Chances are there's one close to you if you live oop north. There's one in most towns.

My works van is an ex Andrew Page van, and was used for parts delivery for most of its life.
