Child Seats x 3

I'm thinking of getting an 06 Alhambra in the near future. It seems a sound choice as I have 3 children under 2 years of age and need to transport them and all their gear.

I've got a couple of child seat questions to throw open to the forum (stay awake at the back!)

1. Will 3 child (Group 0 and 1) seats fit on the middle row? Are the seats wide enough to accomodate all of them at once?
2. Will the central ceiling mounted seatbelt work on a child seat? Trying to work it out in my head makes it hurt.

I'm seeing a vehicle soon and would rather not have to take 3 seats along with me but am aware this may be the only true way to find out.

These are wider than usual and if you have normal child seats then you'll be OK. If you only take one along tyr and see that it fits in each seat and doesn't overlap the adjacant one. If you're really lucky, the vehicle might have built in child seats.

try looking for a model with the built in child seats! or if not hit ebay and buy a couple! not sure on the centre roof mounted belt? we only have a lap belt on this seat so dont use it unless we have too!

The only thing different about the centre seat on cars with the roof mounted belts is that it has two seat belt buckles - one each side. If you do buy from Ebay or another source like that and want to use in the centre position, make sure it has this feature. Equally a left hand seat has to have a right side buckle and vice versa for the right hand seats!

When you have one of these cars and have had the seats out, you'll have at least one "oh sh*t" moment when you realise they've been put back into the wrong positions. Hope this helps

I have ab 02 Alhambra and ordered a second built-in child seat, so one one each side of the middle row. I don't think they could supply a middle seat with a built in child seat. However the two side ones will fit in the back row. I am pretty certain that a "normal" strap in child seat will fit in the middle row when the two outside ones are built in type.

You can get 3 seats in a row easy in the alhambra and the roof mounted belt is fine. Also the middle and back row all have isofix if you have compatable child seats.

Hi you can fit 3 childs seats in middle row, they are able to surport all kids weights just make shure to get the middle one with seatbelt bucklle on the correct side so you can use for adults as well.
usually this will have to ordered as an extra.
The child seats are the same size and shape as normal ones so it is possible to have 5 child seats in your alhambra or sharan.
The child seats dont use the normal seatbelts they have there own.
If you visit a showroom you can easily see how practicle and safe they are, for litle ones or adultsyou use the same seat.

Yeah of course you can...

When the wife use's the car for her work, she often has ALL 5 seats with Full blown Britax or Equivalent seats on them....

When my last son was new born I took out the centre seat with the left and right seat belt holder on and turned the seat around, so he was in his seat safely....

The roof belt is easy... the larger clip goes onto the right hand side as you look from rear of car to front, then the other section is the normal belt clip....
