Definitely the right wheels for the car IMO. The rears sit perfectly in the arches with the centering plates. They would show off the new 8-pots and 356mm discs too! Maybe a colour change of the wheel to get the love completely back? Glossy anthracite?

Think you are right re the colour as never have been completely happy the way they are now. I won't rush into any decision in this regard, the oz are really lightweight and direct bolt on, although I've got 3mm & 5mm spacers on front & rear respectively.

I think xxr 527 will be everywhere this year, keep the Ultras, they've got a lot more class ;)

You are probably right, not many places currently stock the xxr and the one place that was reasonably priced had sold out and not expecting more until March.

This arrived today, excellent service...paid on thursday so super quick delivery considering I live in Jersey. Looks stunning...why didn't I get one sooner.

I agree with the guys above, keep the current wheels. Get them refurbed in a sexy anthracite or maybe even in a high power silver finish for a clean look

Nice manifold.;)
WMI is a must for your setup and will add a big lump of power, it also refines the smoothness of the engine under wot.
Coming along nicely mate.

Agree with this!

Keep them Chris :)

Big update....some bright fooking spark ministers have decided to withdraw the supply of super unleaded from the Island WTF!! Reckon an alternative will be available..what fooking alternative...:censored:[:@] my car is going to run like a bag of spanners aaaaarrgghhh

Been a bit quiet on updates but have finally fitted the Ksport big brakes with new ds2500 - just bedding them in at the moment but can report they feel very similar to the brembos whilst pootling around jersey...looking forward to seeing how they fair under heavy load.
The supplied brake hose is considerably shorter than OEM so it's fed round the back of the coil over. Pics

It's worth mentioning that these discs are 356mm & callipers are 8 pot...I trial fitted the 18" LCR alloys and would you Adam & Eve it they fitted?? Was convinced they wouldn't so pleasantly surprised.

Car is booked in Friday to get new relentless mani fitted and I have ordered new supersize dv & a load of silicone and alloy hose joiners to relocate.

Will be bringing the LCR to the UK at end of month so should be able to giver a good run out.
Thanks for reading
Chris

The K-Sports are looking good behind the wheel there mate, good work :) D

Enjoy your UK blast, just go out later at night ;)

Looking forward to more updates!

The love is back but by god what a complete nightmare journey. *Recap, I took the engine & gearbox out to fit forged rods and an LSD, & whilst out I fitted a JBS mani and garret 2871r eliminator (for k04 flange fitment). *The BT didn't like the mani at all so bought the relentless v3 mani.

Fast forward to last week & took Friday off to fit the new mani. *Removing the JBS mani was a job in itself especially with the engine in. *Removed the dogbone mount, the down pipe, detached the turbo & moved to one side, then disconnected the drivers side engine mount to move the engine forward a bit, which gave me more room between bulkhead and engine to get the spanners in to undo the mani nuts (some undid from underneath). This probably took 6 hours! *We then dropped in the v3 with supplied gasket, which slotted in beautifully I have to say. *Did up the nuts easily and went home to carry on on Saturday. *I only had a couple of hours as my boy had a party to go to, so got up extra early to crack on putting everything back together.

This you think would be straight forward...no! *I mated up the turbo to mani & of the 3 studs one is almost inaccessible, sitting right under the tubes of the mani I could not for the life of me get any kind of spanner on it. *So with time running out I did everything else up and just tightened the 2 nuts that I could access. *Knowing that one was not tight I started her up and with no surprise hot gases were leaking through the flange in to the bay, and with the car sounding like a bag of spanners I decided I would risk the short drive home ( with the bonnet on it's catch to try and add some cooling). *Car has been sat beside my house all this week until today...

More on next post...

...so I took today off to try and sort this out. *Whilst this 3rd bolt was seemingly inaccessible I spoke to Bill who gave me some comfort (if you can call it that), that the bolt is accessible just "b'stard to tighten up" as bill put it. *This gave me hope that it was possible. *I should also mention that I had a horrible feeling that the underside of the mini tubes was fowling on the hotside of the turbo (where the downpipe attaches). *So first thing this morning we did a smoke test and shoved smoke up the exhaust pipe, just to be sure the gases were escaping from the flange, and hey presto they where evidenced by the smoke bellow out into the bay. *Secondly we got an endoscope to look round the back, which after lots of jiggery pokerey we saw that it was touching . *This meant the nut would not do up no matter what.

The only answer was a spacer so we cracked on making one...pics at last
*

This steel spacer was 6mm thick and meant that I had to nip out and get some longer studs. *OEM studs are 35mm, the new ones were 45mm.
Finally mani in, turbo mated properly and no leaks.

Engine bay as don't think I have ever taken one before
20130328_180938_zps2e3b64a5.jpg

...and one of the car as even though dirty thought the big brakes looking good.
20130328_181202_zpsc9e8fe1a.jpg

So what's the car like...an animal...still some fine tuning to do and I've got more silicone to fit, home made cold side DV relocation with a forge supersize, but after all that has gone on I'm really happy. *

Note for samb...if thinking about offering the v3 gt2871r eliminator package, make sure the mani is tweaked so it does't fowl on the turbo. *I'll post proper comments later once logged etc.

Thanks for reading

Thanks El, was nearly at a point where I was going to re-install the OEM bits & go back to stage2, not a bad thing as had some great times but was starting to think was all this worth it. Glad I stuck at it though and over the hardest bit I think & can start getting on with more aesthetic things.

Nice work. I've been reading Bills comments on fitting the relentless on FB. It looks a pig of a job to do with the head off let alone on!
You can't beat a dirty car with big breaks:drool:
