Hi Guys,

My clifford keeps giving me false alarms. When i lock my car, it gives me 4 beeps instead of the usual 2 (which indicates boot or bonnet is ajar), and then within minutes it is alarming. When i disarm and put the keys in the ignition, the blue LED illuminates 6 times to indicate that the alarm sounded because the car thought the bonnet was open. However, i have opened/closd the bonnet a number of times and it is definitely not ajar.

This problem is not constant, it happened the other day and i couldnt do anything about it so had to let it complete its 5 alarm cycles before it stopped checking that sensor (wont alarm after 5 activations from the same sensor, to stop it running down the battery). However after driving it the next day, i locked it twice (recieving only 2 beeps on locking) successfully and there were no false alarms, but then when i got it home last night it started giving me false alarms again.

Does anyone know where the clifford sensor for the bonnet is located, what it looks like and / or how it operates so i can try and repair it?!

Cheers guys,

Greg :D

Sensor is on the suspension strut on the passenger side. Check that the sensor hasnt moved as they sometimes break out of there holder so this would cause the alarm to think the bonnets open

Nice one, cheers bud. Ill check that when i get home.

Cant find the sensor anywhere mate, looked all around the suspension strut and nothing. Hmm.... any other ideas where it could be mounted?

Cheers,
Greg

is there no visable pin switch on the front slam panel? or the remains of one where it could have broke

I have the same alarm... my sensor is on the bonnet catch, the wire should be a grey one. Mine follows the bonnet release cable (inside new tracking) down to the front of the car. Hope you get it sorted mate... I can imagine that is very annoying with an alarm that's supposed to be the best for not false alarming!
