clocks

can anyone tell me if a set of mk2 gti clocks will work in a 1.4? i know that they will physically fit but unsure if the wiring will be the same and work all the gauge`s. i also know that the trip computer obviously wont work either. cheers guys.

general concensus so far is they plug straight in but if you get too far apart on the year you will have to manually check he wires for the correct earthing

if you can get an early 95ish gti speedo (orange/black iirc) you shouldnt have many issues

yes, they can/do.. only thing you might have to do (I did) was remove the indicator bulb from the unit as it buzzes.. other than that should be fine

also consider your mileage will be out and the multi function computer will not work.

might just be easier to reface the dials in your chosen colour which has been done before
