Hi all, hopefully you can help me!

Last night driving home, pushed the clutch down and bang, straight to the floor, thought **** ive snapped the clutch pedal, but then pulled the clutch back up by my hands and it just popped back up again...

Put my hand up at the top of the clutch pedel and it seems some kind of rod/bolt thing has come out from the top of the pedal...

What is this called? I need to replace this part asap, has anyone had this before?

Cheers

Daniel

The effort involved in welding this bracket and the obvious safety concerns with regards to that much heat and the brake master cylinder, I would recommend you replace it!

Not a difficult job and the part is quite cheap (now modified with a strengthening bracket).

I hope this helps.

But the pedal is fine though, its going up and down freely its just that little thing that goes in the top of it...???

Is it the bracket that holds the outer sheath of the cable?

Or is it the plastic end of the clutch cable?

If it is the clutch bracket snapped, you will either have to get it welded or replaced.

The pedals are not normally a problem!

I hope that helps!

Right the little bit at the side of the clutch pedal that goes on top of the ball joint 'thing' that come out of the slam panel has snapped!

Dont know where the bit that has snapped has gone though, the white plastic bit is a senser im presuming? Thats come out as well...

The bit that has snapped is the housing that pushes the plunger for the clutch as you have a hydraulic clutch. Mine did the same on my 1.6, easy job to get it out if you know what your doing.

Don't do what I tried to do and take the pedal off the axle it sits on. Slide the axle to the accelerator side by taking off the clips and then it should make for an easy clutch pedal removal.

Ahh....hydraulic clutch assembly!

All makes sense now! A new pedal is quite cheap!
