It's not unusual for one coil pack failing to cause the others to follow suit. It might be worth popping into Seat/VW/Audi/GSF etc to pick up a couple of spares. They aren't expensive.

no my bank is a building society Abbey, it runs fine at idle but when i get to 3000 rpm (when turbo kicks in) i get a huge juddering like the traction control is kicking in but no light does this sound like yours did mitch

Yes it sounds like another is on its way. Probably much sooner than you would think aswell.

Plug in vagcom/fault code reader to see if there are any mis firing codes. It doesn't neccessarly mean the engine light will come on. Mine never but i still had codes logged on ecu. It will eventually flash at you when it has completely went but you want to catch it before that. if its juddering at around 3000, i would put money on it being because of a cylinder misfire.

That happened to me a few times then the dreaded engine light flash and then coilpack totally dead.

Are you sure he changed the right 1? How did he diagnose which cylinder it was? I have a fault code reader stored in my glovebox, comes in very handy:)

he turned the engine on and saw that it was running bad told me to turn engine off he unplugged coil 1 and turned engine back on made no difference i.e didnt run like it was on 2 cylinders so he changed 1 then turned engine on car sounded fine, not lumpy etc and was fine till i got on the motorway and went to accelerate which is when the juddering started

i have just got 2 more coil packs and am going to fit them either later or tomorrow morning they are for 3 and 4 is there any guides on how to remove all the shite that is above 3 and 4 or is it a case if just simply pulling them all off and then changing the coils

About 4-5 allen key bolts need to be removed and the bracket just slides out of place. A bit of a pain in the arse just to change a coilpack but its easy to do.

Have you got 4 new coilpacks now?

well i had one replaced this time last year the one that caught fire, then the one today and the 2 more i have just purchased so basically 4 new ones yeah

well went to change my coil packs today and what a pain in the arse that is, now me and cars are like old people and computers scared they are gonna break them, so i spent bout half hour undoing the allen key bolts that hold the bracket in place and couldnt get the third one out so gave up and took it too JKM.

Whilst there they replace 3 and 4 but find out that the coil pack the AA supplied me with was faulty and at the same time find out that my spark plugs are creamed too so i had them replaced aswell.

Only bonus is whilst there had my car on the dyno and pulle 250.2bhp and 299lbs ft of torque so gained 8bhp from last time but lost 2lbs ft of torque but i am happy with those figures.

Your coilpack from AA is under 1 years warranty mate. You should ask for a refund if you can prove that its a dud.

Glad you got it sorted:)

yeah already have done mate got 78 quid out of them as they refunded me the coilpack and i changed my membership with them
