coil pack help needed BIG TIME NOW...& a bit of meets chat

have a really good check of the wires mate could be shorting out

oh the plugs, still on super 4 at the min, waiting for a refund on a MAF i got then will get the ngk will be next week.
yea all the wire looks fine, but i noticed the plug was loooose in there so could this be my cause??

could be mate could of shorted the pack out but what do i know lol the super four's wont be helping tho i think you should lay off the pedal till you get some gooduns

lol you make me giggle soft lad. i was thinking the same though about the shorting out, might explane my fuel bill and the loss of power now and then...(the loose plug)

I'm running super 4's and they've been spot on not had any probs with them.

This may sound abit flippant but can't you just get the coilpack clamps I've seen on here? Would this not solve your issue? I may have misunderstood altogether so shoot me down if im wrong lol

He has a loose plug mate not coil pack it's not a case of the pack poping up they keep blowing up

I need to change my coil packs and spark plugs very soon, can you guys give me some advise, obviously stay clear of the crappy eBay ones, BUT i don't want the 'standard' LC ones, I want he 'genuine' BOLT DOWN ones, now I have a question:

Are the bolt down coil packs originally from a Audi S3 so genuine VAG?

Do they come with the bolts?

Which NGK plugs should I opt for, the Iridium's or standard NGK's?

the bolt dons are from the TT and no they dont normally come with bolts, looked in to them when i was getting mine but some of them looked shorter so i didnt bother
email from the guys i got mine from today giving me 12 month warinty, so just need to send it back and they will send me a new one, he said they have had a few go back duff, he thinks a box has been dropped in the where house...
Iridium's are the ones to go for
i got the super 4's as i had them in my LC when i had it, never had any issues with them then so i got them again for the LCR its only been the last few month iv had probs really

had yet another one of the NEW packs go today
have now put 2 & 2 together, its only been the last few month that the packs have been blowing, its also only been the last few month that iv been running with the bosch super 4's.
iv gone and got a set of NGK today...

Terry how do you know when a coil pack has gone? do you get a light flash up or what

and good signature pic im sure mine is pixelated in that

yours is in that pic mate, i think yours is the second nose in from mine...
you will get the engine light flash a few times, doesnt allways happen but 98% of the time it will, and it will feel like shat and sound like a scooby, then again this one went and sounded fine unles i was over 3K in revs, fuel usage is worse than normal, preformace is turd and you may get a really nasty stink out the zorst

the highlite for me other than looking in the mirror and seeing more LCR in one place other than the factory was seeing my bro in laws VX220 fishtailing every where it went, he sold that today

i have 1 other yellow here a black one and iv seen a grey and a red but thats all of us in oxford i think the black one is mental, all stage 3'd up, quick as fook

Only just found this thread, I've been having similar problems with coilpacks (touch wood) all 4 have been working for quite a while now. However I'm still getting missfires on no 2 at high revs, changed for a new set of NGK BKR 7E's still did it, dropped the boost and still did it, turned of wmi and still did it.

Checked my loom and its cracked in places so have got a new one to fit now.

Have you already bought some NGK plugs?

yea i got a set on tuesday seems better at the moment but will see whats going on over the next few weeks
i had all the loom apart, didnt find any thing but noticed it only started after putting bosch super 4's in, i also think i may have found out why the super 4's did it too... some thing im looking in to and was also thinking about taking up with bosch too...
