Coil Packs Failed

I recently had two coil packs go withn about a month of each other. Is this a common/known fault or just bad luck????

Yep I've had my go twice and had to wait for over 3 weeks the 2nd time because of a shortage at the time.

I think though I read on here that they are covered for warranty purposes for upto 5 years from when the car was registered, so you shouldn't have to pay a dealer for new ones.

Down the dealers the other day to buy one as a spare! they said 04 cars onwards have the new style/ modded, tt ones and do come with a 5 year warranty (APPARENTLY CURES THE FAULT)! Still bought one though, just incase
