coil springs

the coil springs that i bought from gaybay arrived yesterday. looked on the box and they are listed for mk2/mk3 '95-'02 1.4/1.6/1.8. that seems a very broad range of car weights as the only 1.8 mk3 that I can think of is the 20vt and that is significantly heavier than a mk2 1.4 and certainly heavier than mine! do you reckon these are gonna fit? (mine being a mk2 16v) they're supposed to lower by 20mm

I have no idea but, what you could do is go on a site that sells branded springs, and see if they sell the same spring for different ibizas.

Say example koni, see if they are different springs or all the same.

They'll probably fit but as above most spring manufacturers list different specs for the 2.0 engines.

They will be different because the weight of the engines are different.

For example ABF (2.0 16v) is heavier than a 1.4 so therefore if you put 2.0 16v springs on a 1.4 and it states a 40mm (on a 16v) then it will probably sit at 30-35mm on your 1.4

i did think that the range of cars listed was a little too broad! ahh well. i'll stick em on and see how it handles! you never know, I might end up with more grip due to a softer spring! and if it sits too low that will be a hell of an excuse to put the car on a diet!

What specific Koni springs can you guys advise me to buy? I am planning to make some changes on my ride this week.

All Koni springs are the same for whatever model Mk2 Ibiza from 1.0 to 2.0 16v.... the spring is the same! Long story short, I had Koni Sport Adjustable didn't work right rung up Koni and basically ended up arguing with them over the phone about it and told them to stuff the kit

Same goes for Spax, Weitec, Apex, KW Suspension... rung them all to check.
