Hi Seastormer, it did/does unfortunately, many of them, would often get in the car just after or during rain and have water in the drivers side foot well and on the passenger side could see water beading down over the door threshold and making puddles on the mat.

The seals have been changed and some other stuff, but whilst I can't see the water coming in now like before, the situation has not improved, so either water is still getting in or the sound proofing under the carpets is so saturated with water, it will need the seats and carpet taking out to get to it to dry the sound proofing and floor pan out.

I know some people have no issues at all, but some people are having a major issue with it, just wondering if anyone with a major issue managed to get to the bottom of it

Have you tried the large plastic sheet that seals the whole door? It's under the door card and if it's torn or not making a good seal all the way round, water WILL get in. It's under slight negative pressure anyway as per Seastormer's comments. The faster you go, and I'm sure you go very fast DW911, the greater the suction (negative pressure out of the back vents. Then water will be pulled in through any tears in the plastic sheet.

I had a 2013 FR184 that was a pain in the backside for misting up and taking an age to demist, my 2014 Cupra on the other hand is absolutely fine.

Nothing done differently between the two, the climate control on auto and air con always on and there were no obvious leaks on the FR

Lol thanks dephead2004, you might have a point there , my gf and some nice policeman have mentioned similar on a few occasions, o and some nice older people on a bench that a nice policeman invited me along to see couldn't stop going on about it either :-o :D

but seriously, thinking about it, what your saying makes sense , I do drive on the autobahn and mways at what some may consider fast and I have noticed it is worse after, when compared to driving it locally for a few days.
So I'll take the door cards off and check the plastic membranes behind first and see if I can find the cause of the leaks, as up till now I've just left it to the dealer to fix without success, and I know the dealer's had the cards off before so there is a good chance they may have damaged them.

Cheers

Got a st no sunroof and it is horrendous!

Worst car I've been in for condensation. I live detailing so the car is regularly done but it still steams up like a mother****er and I refuse to put Aircon on. Its costs money!

When you push the fast clear screen button the A/C comes on automatic so one would amuse this is what you have to do to clear the condensation.

I don't have that button, just turn dials. Have it on max heat on the windscreen, takes ages and the amount of water that comes of the windscreen!!!

Not about using AC

Be interesting to see if the problems are just cars without C/control (sorry not read all the posts may be already covered).

i have noticed with climate control, when you hit the screen only button you actually get less power then just using the knobs to turn it full blast at the screen only

You can clearly tell with the noise, so not sure if the windscreen max button does something else to de mist quicker?

condensation

I have 184 FR with a sunroof which i bought new and the condensation was terrible and it never smelt new.I discovered after 6 months one of the pipes from the sunroof was not connected and all the water was pouring into the car. After a big fight with Seat i got it all fixed.
