Hi Seastormer, it did/does unfortunately, many of them, would often get in the car just after or during rain and have water in the drivers side foot well and on the passenger side could see water beading down over the door threshold and making puddles on the mat.
The seals have been changed and some other stuff, but whilst I can't see the water coming in now like before, the situation has not improved, so either water is still getting in or the sound proofing under the carpets is so saturated with water, it will need the seats and carpet taking out to get to it to dry the sound proofing and floor pan out.
I know some people have no issues at all, but some people are having a major issue with it, just wondering if anyone with a major issue managed to get to the bottom of it
Have you tried the large plastic sheet that seals the whole door? It's under the door card and if it's torn or not making a good seal all the way round, water WILL get in. It's under slight negative pressure anyway as per Seastormer's comments. The faster you go, and I'm sure you go very fast DW911, the greater the suction (negative pressure out of the back vents. Then water will be pulled in through any tears in the plastic sheet.
Does your car have a sunroof.I have a new 184 with a sunroof and one of the drain hoses was not connected from factory.
Got a st no sunroof and it is horrendous!
Worst car I've been in for condensation. I live detailing so the car is regularly done but it still steams up like a mother****er and I refuse to put Aircon on. Its costs money!
When you push the fast clear screen button the A/C comes on automatic so one would amuse this is what you have to do to clear the condensation.
I don't have that button, just turn dials. Have it on max heat on the windscreen, takes ages and the amount of water that comes of the windscreen!!!
Not about using AC
