car - seat leon fr tdi arl 150bhp mk1 2005
issues - horrible to drive when cold, hessitant and lumpy on boost, lack of power, sometimes will go into limp mode feels like sticky turbo vanes

there are NO overboost codes stored even after limp mode, car has zero fault codes

once warm the car runs perfect, turbo runs brilliantly, no hesitation and no limp mode

i have done a log with vcds from cold

the first run you can see an overboost, but on the second run this overboost is gone when engine temp has risen.

does anybody have any ideas as im lost and nothings obvious to me

cheers

I wouldnt reccommend doing 3/4 gear runs WOT untill engine is up to temp.
Has it allways been like this? Have you had the cam lobes inspected?

Yes i dont recommend it either bud needed to do it to show overboost.

I dont think the cam lobes are cooked, no smoke, no rough idle, no starting issues, good mpg, full seat service history on the button every 10k

Car is also an 05 plate so i believe has the hardened buckets :)

Could be early stages of sticky vanes.......only when cold then as turbo warms up it frees up enough.

Try getting car up to temp, then find a nice long uphill stretch where you can hold 3rd gear at high rpm, then hold it as long as you can to get turbo hot and attempt to blast some crud out.

Another thing could be sticking egr valve? Whats the mileage/ egr been cleaned before?

I have cleaned the turbo out with mr muscle

Cleaned the egr valve when i got it on 95k along with intercooler pipework, replaced intercooler seals, and cleaned inlet manifold out

I have logs when heated up and it shows no issues. Also serviced it fully with longlife 3, air filter, fuel filter, cabin filter. Basically the full works

I give it the beans most of the time and its faultless once its warmed up!

I have run it for the last 5k on tesco's diesel but over the last 2 weeks ive been using vpower and injector cleaner, had a go this morning and it felt good with zero issues, so im thinking the tesco diesel might be the issue when its cold.....?

Hmmm, sound like youve dobe everything i want to (just never have time to strip intake and clean).

Just a thought.....i read some where about there being a cold injector or injection? If i get time ill try and research. Also log the measuring blocks 004, cold start injector duty cycle, see what its doing when cold. Dont know what its supposed to do but a bit of research may come up trumps.

Could do with mutley having a look at this thread, he seems to be the tdi guru and knows his stuff.

Going to fit a new n75 valve will update when done

To do graphs like that you need vcds lite on your computer. An obd2 lead from ebay

Then you can do live logging with vcds lite on your laptop :)

Could be a vacuum leak? From what i undertand your boost should spike then settle down, whilst fitting your new n75...inspect the vac pipework, may have a small leak when cold but as the rubber warms up it might expand a tiny amount and seal it?
