Just wondered if anyone has come across this before. Had a quick search and can't find anything though.

When I wind either of my windows down, within the first centimetre or so of winding it down, there is a nasty cracking sound. It's like it's not located properly at all, but the glass doesnt' seem to move visibly.

Any ideas what it could be?

Other than this, I'm loving my new Ibiza :D

clean the rubbers that the window closes into, failing that get your dealer to lube or adjust the mechanism as it's an 07 it will be covered but be careful as they say no "adjustments" are covered normally

Booked in for Wed 13th Feb, not happy that there's an £11 charge for a courtesy car but hey!
Not gonna stop me enjoying my beeza :D

My cupra did this when new and like you say just the first cm or so ,stopped doing it after a couple of months i think they just need to loosen up a bit, but its not a nice noise to here on a NEW car.

yep i remember that sound. think its just cos its new and the rubber is tight.

mine makes a cracking sound as the passenger window goes down, i took the door card off to inspect and found a plug/lead hanging out that i guessed was for a higher model with heated wing mirrors?!?!so every time the window went down it briefly caught the plug.
anyways moved the plug and stopped the cracking now.

Looked at it last night and it's definately the rubber that's just catching whilst it goes down.. Tempted to leave it a bit if I can get the headlights sorted myself haha, thanks for your help people :)
