i have a 2.0 8v gti and when lifting the clutch pedal up it creaks and is slightly sticky any ideas how to fix it , its doing ma nut in :wtf: cheers

I'm guessing the return spring at the top of the clutch pedal is a bit mucky? WD40 will do wonders.

A failing clutch cable can cause stickiness though, so if the WD40 doesn't fix it, try and look at the clutch cable.

i'm sensing potential pedal box issues.....mine starting to squeak in the build up to the pedal box snapping.

i tryed spraying wd40 no difference so think its the dreaded pedal box:cry::help: i will have to investigate

cheers for the help

mine was the same. I replaced the clutch cable, solved it!

Oh, and my pedal box has split, and been welded (badly) at some point, and has started to split again. i just bolted a bracket/clamp throught the bulkhead, and it doesnt flex anymore.

i know i was talking to stu while reading this and hes gonna have a look at it for me :)
