guys, just got a creaky groany sound when on full lock, and or pulling off curbs, sounds like something stuck and groaning to release....

hard to explain, only does it when i turn full lock round a corner, or pull off a curb??

any ideas, had the wheels off when fitting my porsche brakes on tuesday and couldnt really see anything rubbing?

also i have a knock when going over speed bumps, not when i go slow over them though....

could this be symptoms of a dodgy steering rack..

and another, ive developed a slight hesitation on throttle, when in first and second, low revs not booting it?

almost like the car doesnt want to boost?

help appreciated:D

Mine does this too, took it to a local garage who couldn't see anything visibly wrong and said it wasn't anythnig to worry about.

Not checked my power steering fluid (although I'd hope the garage would have done that) but will have a look later.

i had a small leak which caused a groan. Fixed the leak, checked the levels and they were not below the minimum and fluid was evident in the reservoir. So i thought it was not going to be the fluid level. - But, having got some fluid i topped it up anyway; and voila, no more groans!

So if i was you, id not assume that because you can see fluid in the reservoir that its enough. Top it up.

the fluid i used i got from a VAG dealer. (power steering fluid) Im sure GSF will sell it also.
Still got loads left so shame im not nearby.

Regards the knocking, who knows, it could be a few things, but its interesting you get it only when going over speed bumps quickly and not slowly. Could be suspension top mounts, exhaust, engine mounts. If you dont get the knocking when turning etc id say its less likely to be steering rack / track rods etc.

I have a similar whale-like groaning on full lock or just about full lock but only when turning left. Not found any reason for it and there's been several threads on here with people having a similar thing and not found anything wrong either. Mine's done it since I've had the car (over a year) and not got worse.

I had a similar hesitation on light throttle, 1st and 2nd gear and sometimes 3rd... almost like I'd suddenly lifted off the accelerator, tried all sorts such as changing N75, N249, diverter valve which helped a bit but a good throttle body clean sorted it completely, and since this is easiest to do I'd try this first.

re the other bits.

i try the throttle body clean, theres a guide on here somewhere isnt there?

if not, n75 is the way..

can anyone wrap up in a nutshell which n75 is best, i see theres different ones?
