I have some good news and some bads news boys. First the good, I had exactly the problem you described, noisy over speed bumps etc, thought it was the brakes or the rear seats etc etc.

Did everything I could to sort it but nothing, then one day in my mates garage he fixed it in like 30secs!!!!!

The bad news is that I cant exactly tell you want he did, i'll give it a go though.

He had a look in the wheel arch while we bounced the car and decided it DEFININATELY DID NOT come from the wheel arch, he looked a little forward of the wheel arch and under the skirts. If you dropped a line down from your rear door handles and go under the skirt a bit, that was roughly the area you are looking at. He sprayed it with a simple greaser/PTFE type spray he said give it a day or so to work in, which I did and its been 100% better - promise. You do hear other creaks though!!

I think it was the rear bushes but not sure, but it took only like 30 secs and didnt need any special tools. So get under that bit and if you see any suspension type bits there or arms or bushes then lub that bit.

Hope that helps a little, but there is hope so hold on!!!!!

hi there all i have this prob aswell it must be common,,
when i wash the underside of my car i spray everyfin with wd40 this stops the noise for a couple of weeks ,,

must be something that needs lube

My LCR 55 39k seems to be doing this over speed humps, coming from the rear, now that the weather is getting cold. Sounds exactly the same symptoms as everyone else... Doesn't happen when you bounce the car either at the rear.

Will check for bits to lube!

Im really glad i saw this thread and now know im not the only one with this strange creaking noise. Everytime i go over a stupid speed hump i get it. Thought my suspension was knackered!!

i have this squeaking noise at the moment. mine sounds like its coming from the rear drivers suspension. when i open the dor and stand on the sill jumping up and down you can hear it squeaking. i was going to try some wd40, ie spray on one area at a time untill squeaking stops so i can pin point what is squeaking. then maybe i can do something about it. maybe the salt from the road recently is causing the funky noises?

Ive just noticed this problem with mine, but its not on cold days, its only happened in last few days which i thought was a suspension problem. (mk1 lcr 55 plate 58k miles).

Seems to be a strange creaky noise from what i thought was the rear but bro reckons its from the front drivers side?!

Anyways its normally on a bumpy road, speed humps or coming off the driveway.

So i take it, its just a bit of lubing?

Funny enough my 2012 Leon fr has started with an odd squeeking when it warms up, had it lowered 40mm two weeks ago,
