I'm after someone near Southampton that can do this.. Otherwise it'll be a trip to westec which is miles and miles away :(

Just fitted cruise to my petrol car - took a few hours but well worth it. I just followed all the advice on www.golfmk4.co.uk including the link to buy the parts and all is fine. Either stalk will do - I went for the one with the + - controls - seemed to be the preferred option. I got the extra wiring loom from Chris at golfmk4.co.uk (he's very helpful) and followed the wiring diagram for the Golf even though the wiring seems different, I took a chance on the diagram he offers & it worked.

Got a local VAG COM owner (many thanks to him) to enable the cruise before I installed it - now I need him back to reset the air bag light - lol.

Hey presto - DIY cruise control and I saved £100+ beer money

mikey - you still planning on cc?
Thinking with the offer coming up in jan with Darren might be able to get the bits cheaper... just need the fitting done...

Out of interest then who would be interested in having someone on the South Coast who can install cruise control???

well i might have a company that can fit it in the near future - just gotta sort a few things out first. Not sure on price or anything yet... we shall see

cool - where are you guys sourcing your parts from?

1J0 953 513 01 C - Stalk
1J0 971 425 - Wiring Loom

if 1.8T also need the wiring loom available from "rally chris" on here or his website www.golfmk4.co.uk for £17.00.....

If you get the bits, you can source them quite cheaply. I am actually going to wait myself until the deal that Willoughbys SEAT have in january - and hopefully the first two bits will be nice and cheap... retail at about £54 otherwise...

It depends how we go - Place in question have fitted diesel cruise contol before, but are more than willing to fit my cruise control as their first one and once one is done they can then take on more.. just need to see how the first one goes.

i recon it'll work out cheaper than the £75 + petrol to/from westec.... but we shall see.
