Mange tout! I'm after a bit of advice.
I've got a standard grey Ibiza Cupra 160 diesel and am looking at moving on to something else. Probably back to a Polo G40 as I have a cupboard full of upgrades waiting to go on one and I miss having one!
I'm not sure whether it would be better (from my point of view) to break my Cupra or sell it as it is? I've used it to commute 70miles/ day up and down the M5 for the last 18 months or so but am finding that it just goes to waste tootling up and down there, I never actually go anywhere in it really!
It's not a minter but at the same time hasn't got any major problems, things are just beginning to feel a bit worn as it's 120k; front top mounts, crack in windscreen from stonechip, f. disks feel a little warped, passenger f.wing is a bit rusty, boost elbow pipe pops off inlet due to worn lugs, worn engine mount allowing a bit of movement (hence boost pipe going I think). On the plus side it's got service history (not full), the cambelt was done 1yr/30k ago and I get anything from 280-480 miles out of a tank (dependant on driving style) I've seen anything from 34-52mpg over 35 mile trip to work.
What are they worth in parts and what would you say it's worth as it is? I was thinking £3.5k as it is but possibly more in parts? I'm sure I've seen the AP racing brakes go for ~£800 as an example, and after trying to find a new set of alloys quickly discovered they're like hens teeth in rocking horse **** and go for about the same money!
This isn't an advert to sell it before anyone says anything, I'm aware this site's quite strict with ads, etc. I'll get round to doing that in a few weeks if I decide what to do. I may well just fix it up and get another year or two out of it. It'd be good to know what others would do to get ideas!
