Hi guys,

Im off to the stealers tomorrow to test drive a cupra and just have a couple of questions ive not been able to get an answer for while doing my research (want to get as much info before I deal with them).

So first off I wondered if anyone with electric adjustment on their front drivers seat could tell me if it has a memory function or not?

Also while we are taking about the seats, on the SEAT site it says I need to pick the winter pack (and pay for it) when selecting leather interior... but when using some of the broker sites, they suggest that the Leather Seat Pack comes with the winter pack options for the £750~ price tag... did the guys with leather seats pay for the winter pack too separately?

Has anyone with the seat sound pack got a pic of how much room the sub/amp take up in the boot?

Also, has anyone been able to order the tyres from the SUB8 pack but without buying the pack itself?

Hopefully if all goes well and they give me a price close enough to the brokers, I'll order something tomorrow :)

Cheers in advance!

Kris

Pity you did not see Rabs Nearly new Car for sale you could have save £10000

After 4 weeks with my car (not all that impressed) make sure 100% this is the car you want.

Will leave a new thread about my car later.

Looking forward to this, design or build quality issues? I'm having problems with mine already too (see separate threads on cracked rear discs and a new one I'm about to write about geometry way out if spec )

I can't see any memory function on my electric seats
I'm pretty sure I paid for the winter pack separately to the leather option, but this was before the October options and price and spec change.

I've had mine a week now, but am thrilled with it :) Not had any build quality issues, rattles etc thus far. Though I probably don't drive it as hard as many on here, i'm not one to ever use launch control, spin the tyres, or take corners at massively high speeds. Even when wet and very cold, i've not had the traction control light come on.. put it that way (others seem to say it comes on all the time).

But for me I wanted a car that was comfortable and relaxing to drive 95% of the time, e.g. on the drive to work in heavy traffic. It does that very well compared to my old 62 plate Ibiza. And then when I hit a dual carriageway and want a bit of fun and to do some overtaking, it's got fantastic power reserves to shoot me down the road.

So aslong as these quality issues don't rear their ugly head, it's a solid 9/10 for me (it loses a mark for it's touch screeen media/satnav system, which while serviceable, isn't great)

Sub doesn't take up any room, it sits in the well of the space saver rim.

I second this, loses a mark from me for the tyres, noisy at speed on wrong surface, hoping to put smaller wheels and quieter tyres on when the current ones have worn out.

Thats kinda why i wondered if i could get the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Tyres thrown in from the factory for half the cost a full set would if i buy them afterwards, but i have a feeling they will do a "computer says no" at me.

The seats are manual, not electric, as far as I know...???

Leccy seats were launched with Seat X-perience model then rolled out across the range apart from 3dr variant. Been available to order since late September.

Yeah I wouldnt bother if it was just me driving the car as once i have a good seat position, it never changes but as the missis might drive it now and again if her car is in the garage I wondered if it has a memory option. No matter, not end of world.

You'd hope they'd lift it straight from a dub so it would have, but it would probably need coding or something daft.

Test drive went really well - wet greasy roads today so was able to see how it actually behaved in crap conditions... surprisingly well. Could I make the traction control light come on... of course. Was it as bad as i thought it would be... no. Boot it in first and the wheels spin... then again boot my vrs in first and it does the same. Coped with the slippy roads better than any fwd ive driven before.

Ride was firm as expected... but not as bad again as i feared. I think it would run better on 18's to soften the ride.... 19's prob a bit overkill. Not keen on the fake engine note, bit droney so if that can be disabled in vcds then i'd go for that.

Its pretty fast, not as fast as i thought in a straight line but it does go round corners pretty fast for fwd.

Getting the demo car for a 24 hour drive this weekend to show the missis and let her have a drive.

Thanks for all the info thus far btw!

Did you try with the DCC set to comfort ? I was expecting a fairly firm ride with 19's, but I find it surprisingly good compared with my old Mk V Golf GTI (which was on 17's)

I pressed the comfort setting, so I guess that turned everything right down... that was what it was set for most of the trip back to the dealers, as i wanted to see what it was like in "boring going to work" mode.

It was firmer than i was used to (when i got back in the vrs felt well soft haha) but perfectly happy with the ride quality.
