A broken kneecap amongst a couple of other mishaps are leading me to believe it is time to retire my left leg from driving for a while and move to the dark side. I am currently looking for a Cupra, but looking through a few of the readers ride threads and stuff there doesnt seem to be much by way of hardware upgrades to the TSi engine. I've seen a couple people have done pistons and conrods etc, but what about the supercharger/turbo? Thinking along the lines of reducing the supercharger pulley size that sorta stuff, anybody have any experience or issue with these? What sort of stuff have people done with theirs?

Looking at the responses on here, it seems that its a minority of cars having those issues, and when they do by and large the dealers (with some poking and prodding) are doing something about it, so in my mind the warranties and stuff with the car appease my mind. I test drove the FR when this model was first released, always regretted not getting one in a way.

But the car won't have warranty if you modify it mate... Also, the carbon issue effects ALL direct injection cars mate

10 plate or later I believe are less prone to the problems, they updated it with a larger breather pipe and an oiler cooler I believe. Mine has had some issues drinking oil but its not anywhere near what Seat (or myself) define as excessive consumption.

Had my boc since may/June mate glad to see you back in the loop mate :D
