Ok, guys, after a little thought, a little bit of blood and tears, i made it... using broken parts from a MY03 upper grill (the upper part honeycomb as the bottom half of the bumper honey comb is of a different size and angle as the above!)
And a Cupra R, S badge grill, abit of filing, sanding, spraying and brainwave and i made this...

what you recon people, i got the honeycomb to replace the slots either side, also been sprayed in matt black to match the bottom honeycomb. Surround is glossy black....

Think Robdon will be intrested in this, as i know he is going the same way as me with the upper honeycomb![B)]

I thought about doing just that slick as think front would look better if it all matched. However, the work content involved scared me off so if you are going to make these I'll take one of your hands ;)

I'm sure there would be a market for this mod just have to price it up properly given the workload involved.

Looks good though, pics when it's fitted please :)

Blimey, didnt think i would get such a response like that...

Hmm, make more... well i do have the parts at the mo, to do another one...
Basically, it costs about £35-40 in parts, need a new grill badge, and a MY03 upper grill piece, abit of skill, abit of paint and its done.... i guess you could do the excately same to make it a slotted debadged grill by swaping the MY03 upper grill to the early Cupra or Cupra R version.....
So theres a big intrest into these... i dont know how to price it really...Need the price of parts (£20 odd S badge grill each then two people can share a grill price, £15 as one side is only needed) and postage (£6-8), then my bit, so whats reasonable for you guys to pay for it...say £10-15 for me in it..
so can be done in £50-60, that reasonable people.. i can see if i can obtain the grey metallic colour for the grill to match the OEM side grills, again i gues most will want the slotted unless they have converted to the honeycomb version?

Funny you should say a pic fitted, i have a pic of it over the orginal, so get a taster...

A cupra badge on the top part of that would look mint. I don't suppose you could try it?

If i had on hand i could, but i dont, could photoshop one in, if i had a pic of the badge on similar angle... etc...

Did a photoshop of the honeycomb top grill...bit naff looking but in the flesh i think it will look 10x better!

Just working out if most people will want the Slotted debadged look or the honeycomb and of coarse they will have to be colour coded to the OEM metallic grey colouring....

I mean only a few will want to do the conversion to honeycomb... most will just like the slotted debadged look.

is it possible to have full honey comb in the metalic grey and just a slot for the bonnet lifter, as opposed to the solid part at the top where the slot is? sorry to make things complicated! i reckon you could do alright out of this!

if you can add me to the list and just let me know what to do regarding costs, sending payments etc

Will do but not to sure bout the honey comb grille dont know weather it would look right or not but i guess you dont know until you try do you. What did you do just butcher a honeycomb grille into shape then stick it in mate or am i barking up the wrong tree here.

Ok peeps, answer a few questions...

Yes the honey comb upper grille is as Rikko said, butchered into to fit the centre grill,
secondly the strip at the top is there because the honey from the side grills dont match the same height of the centre grill so basically i have to fill in the gap of about half an inch, which lucky enough is the same height that the bonnet drop around it....

Personally, i think i should do a slotted version first as most people have that, and also if i do it slotted i dont have to put the strip at the top!
Just a task of find a slotted grill on here or scrappies to use....
