I was thinking the same, maybe a none standard road car for track days or something, or maybe its a highly tuned FR.

Cupra Championship car..... and that does 0-60 slower than your car....

makes you wonder how you're timing it (but you missed that)

Well I can say I do not have any specialist kit for timing it, but it was a simple stopwatch whilst driving, so is a little crude to say the least, sayin that, its only a shade over a second quicker than standard. I take it youve not been out in a chipped Cupra yet? You would never want it standard again, but on the downside, with these damp roads, it renders the first 2 gears pretty useless under first & second gear so your need to learn the maximum throttle position yourself as the ESP doesnt quite deal with the spin as well as a controlled foot. So you are saying the cupra championchip car is a second or less to 60 than the standard road car even on slicks with a DSG box?

Sorry mate, but no way is a mapped MK2 Leon Cupra gonna bust 5 seconds to 62 from 0 unless;

1) Its a bone dry day on high grip tar
2) Sticky tyres are fitted
3) The launch is absolutely perfect, probably done on high grip tar
4) No passenger on board - or probably interior for that matter

If you are going to measure 0-62 accurately you need special timing gear. A crude device like an accelarometer can also work with some degree of error, but which road do you have that is perfectly flat so as not to give a false reading. Timing by using the inaccurate speedometer with your eyeball telling your mate when to stop his stopwatch is about as accurate as my aim for the toilet bowl when I am pissed.

As for getting high 5's on a damp road

Ok, I need to get it timed properly with some kit if I am interested in a real accurate figure, Thanks :) Didnt think this forum was so hostile, but thanks for your input. What I have learnt, admit nothing, dont state figures as they are always open to debate, im happy with the car, thats what matters.

it's not hostility.....

Admit things you know as fact

Speculate where approriate

Don't time 0-60 with a stopwatch

I think that's the golden rules :D

Agree, the stopwatch is a bit of a guestimate, live & learn, it was fact on the stopwatch though :headhurt: all the same, the damn thing is rapid & gives me the grin factor every time I go out in it, thats what matters.

I have to confirm with Cupra II in the quality of Angle Tuning. Ive used them twice now and have nothing but great things to say about them.
They have tuned up my previous Alfa 146 2.4 JTD and my wifes current car 1.9 JTD Punto and they are great.
I'm expecting my first seat Leon Cupra in about 6 weeks although we all know what the true delivery times are like and I'll definitly be going to Angel Tunning to get it tweaked.

Although Angel arent that well known on this forum they are very well respected on other forums especially Italian makes and diesel specific ones.

Yeh Paul is a great guy at troon have brought 4 cars to him, and he has done brilliantly for me in all but one occasion, being my recent where my remapped leon fr tdi, started hesitating when changing gear at full throttle, so bit the bullet and was the first and still only scottish guinea pig for stage 2 dpf delete treatement, but he is a top class guy, and knows his stuff:)

I reckon this is irony and Mork and DJ have fallen for it!

Erm na. I will be able to prove the theory with pretty well every bolt on within a couple of weeks, and my bet is it still wont bust 5 seconds from 0-60.
