Cupra TDI Cambelt

My car is due a new cambelt (60.000 miles)
What is the usual price to pay. I was told £350 from Seat. Seams a bit £££ to me.
Any ideas?

Sounds about right as main dealer prices go, pretty good in fact.

Specialist or independent. Wouldn't get a dealer to service as far as I could throw em!

Take about a £100 off that or more!

Just make sure its a reputable specialist. I had a Bora in a while back with the engine sat at a rather odd angle. They didnt replace the moutning bolts and the engine fell out.

and make sure they use 'new' mounting bolts to, as they're 'stretch' bolts and should be replaced if undone, and NOT reused

Techie, any idea of the P/N for the mount bolts ?!?

IIRC they aren't stretch bolts.

The reason they should be changed is the greenish coating on them which is a corrosion inhibitor as they are a steel bolt passing through an aluminium mounting.

ah, worth remembering.

going to look at doing the cambelt on my LCR, and just need to find the P/N for the bolts so I can fit new ones.

Got my cambelt done for £120 in the end. The guy who done it works fow VW.
Done it in the VW workshop too.
Cheeky sod.
