my leon 130 se has been remapped and i kept up with the new vrs octavia which is 200bhp it dropped me at high ish speeds lol so i think the leon could match it

Back to the question in hand what is the actual 0-60 of the 150cupra/fr as there are loads of different times posted on other threads

standard v standard i would say the golf, i know its faster than the 150 diesel golf so assuming the same as leon, why are you bothered? straight line speed is boring!as long as you enjoy your car! the 8.5 sounds right to me, but i am not an expert.

I've got my FR mapped and i have managed 0-60 in 7 seconds dead (off GPS timing) but that will no doubt be argued by someone who knows better.
I can confirm that it does beat the MK4 GTI (150) in standard form as my mate has one, but if the leon was standard and the Golf GTI was the 180 version, it would struggle. Mapped it should easily keep up.

That'll be me then! The GPS takes time to catch up and measures your speed using S=D/T, so not accurate enough to do a 0-60 - not to mention human error in timing!

I guess nothing is accurate then as they all need time to catch up or be activated.
All figures must therefore be bollox.

to be fair i think a mapped tdi should do about 7, about 130 bhp per tonne? plus all that torque. fast things them.

The 210 LCR is 165 BHP/tonne
It's book 0-62 is 7.3 secs.
So not too sure that the re mapped TDI would do it that quickly
A remapped LCR is not that much faster to 60 than a standard one but above its a different story;)

I'm sure I read somewhere that the Cupra TDi was listed at 7.6 seconds for 0-60mph. Someone on here scanned in and posted a TDi report with the Leon up against 3 other TDi's.

The Cupra should beat the Golf (either petrol or diesel) as most Golf drivers are either old or female! LOL

Funny how all diesel drivers realise the power and speed of the petrol cars and respect that they are generally quicker, but the petrol heads refuse to accept that diesels are getting quicker and are becoming a match for them.
People can speak of their times or race results, yet they get discarded because they aren't petrol.
Shame.

Thing is, the general consensus is exactly the opposite. Modern diesels are quick, no doubt about it, but ultimately a similar powered petrol is more fun (in my opinion) and quicker.

But this is just me.... i see no reason to ever consider buying a diesel until i do over 20k a year. The extra purchase costs compared with the higher fuel prices really dont pay dividends until miles rack up - and even then, unless it was financial suicide not to change, id stay petrol because i prefer it.

The one thing that does get my goat with some derv drivers is the constant ramblings of how great the fuel economy is - when, in all honesty, most petrol owners dont really care, otherwise we'd have changed over for exactly the reasons above.

sure the lcr is about 6.8?, my vts did 7.5 all day long! that was 130 per tonne and my clio would do it in seven that was 150 per toone. so with all that torque sure it would be done. its the same old thing, diesels can be very fast but feel a bit boring to a petrol head, each to their own.:)

Hi all i have a standard cupra and today at the lights on this hot day got from 0 to 60mph in a time of 6.6secs now thats the quickest time ive had. TCS is always off at these sprints, mind you this was with a stopwatch. I was so shocked the take off was superb.:p
