Cupra throttle cable conversion

Following on from Alps Pacino's thread (Cupra ihi track car project) does anyone have any info regarding converting a Cupra to allow a manual throttle cable to be used.

The thread mentions that for one the pedal box may have been changed. Would the lesser models hold a suitable pedal box?

I have done a search and cannot find a definative answer.

Yes that is what I would like to do simply to allow me to be able to map it myself.
