A 'friend' just phoned Seat and asked if he ordered a Cupra today would it come with Xenon's as standard.

"Yes it would"

It was pre-reg, so I'm going to see who it was first registered to, before me.
I ordered it as a pre-reg I mean. It should still have been custom built as I wanted it.

It's definately a 8R Cupra though, which is the latest chassis.

Would/should it not be registered to the dealer if they ordered it as a demo/pre reg car, then sold it on to you?

Has your dealer managed to cook up something for you to swallow that doesn't smell distinctly fishy?

Its a legal requirement to have either headlamp washers or self levelling suspension with xenon headlights, so would be quite difficult to retro fit xenons.

I don't think there is any issue with bringing Seat Customer services into the mix, all they can do is put extra pressure on the dealer to sort things out as quickly as possible as they don't want to have bad press on their marque.

If you don't get any joy then email one of the car magazines, Whatcar have a good section. They will sometimes speak to the manufacturer on your behalf and its amazing how quickly things suddenly get sorted out.

Don't let them fob you off though, looks like you are in a very strong position and the car is not as described.
