cv joint gators or boots....

Hi Guys,

Both of my cv joint boots have gone and put grease every where inside the wheel so safe to say it wont be driven, any one else had this? my leon is very low would this be why they have gone? is it a big job to do on the tdi and also wheres the best place to get the parts from besides main dealer at there prices, links would be great!!

Cost from the dealers is about £20 per side, whereas Eurocarparts are less than £6 per side. If you have a TPS near you then they sell genuine Seat (VAG) parts to the public at discount prices.

Its just a CV boot that can happen to any car.

Get them done asap to stop excessive wear to the CV joint.

I would suggest you get a garage to do it as they'll have the special tool to get it on without withdrawing the shaft. Last time I had one done it cost me half an hour labour plus the part. Peanuts.

DIY and it's a pita and your lucky to get oil everywhere.
