Just had a little bump in my leon Cupra (2002) and was my fault so may need to claim on the insurance :( . The only damage on the car is to the bumper - few dents, scratches, fitment, and spotlight trim from what I can see.

As it's going to effect my premium anyway do you think it's feasible to ugrade the bumper when it's getting fixed (paid for by the insurance company)? If so what are the different bumpers I could get and how do you think I should approach this with the insurance company or place it's getting fixed.

I suppose even if I don't claim (depending on how much it's going to cost to fix the other car) then I'm going to need to get it fixed myself.

Any advice or opinions would be great here guys.
Gutted!

If your planning on getting the LCR front bumper your original fogs won't fit this
The only way I could see that you could do this is to have the garage that is fixing your car on your side.ie get two quotes but say to one garage that you want this uprated bumper and perhaps you'll pay the difference. But other than that you'll find it a difficult road trying to get the insurance company to agree to pay more for a different bumper to be fitted

Nice one for the reply. The cupra on is out of the question then. So it looks like it's standard or facelift. Would the insurance company know that a different bumper had been fitted/paid for? I presume that it would be a SEAT dealership that it would be fixed at so could I just ask them to put a facelift one on or would it not work like this?
Thanks again.

I would have thought that Seat wouldn't be able to get the prefacelift stuff any more so it'll be a face lift bumper atleast

If I pay for this myself rather than insurance jobbie then how much am I looking at for a face lift bumper (painted), fittings, and fitted at dealers? Also is there anyway of getting a discounted price?

Thanks for the help folks,
Miles

i had a touch, on my leon tdi 110 i had the full cupra kit put on it and got it all insured, not long ago a 50cc ped pulled out infront of me and damaged my bumper beyond repair, he admitted liability which was very generous of him, i then went to seat to get a quote, and cause i am quite well known down there, they wrote it down as a cupra r bumper on the estimate and i getting whole new front cupra r bumper, grills fogs and bonnet respray
