Damp!

I have just discovered my rear mats of my LCR to be soaking wet in the rear footwells.on both passenger and drivers sides. Removed them to let them dry as i thought that i may have spilt a drink or something the other day. All was fine however yesterday, they were soaking wet again. When i say damp that is an understatement, soaking is more like it. Drivers side not quite as bas as the passenger side. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this before or could shed some light on what the possible cause is for me.
