Dash board display

I have a 54 plate LCR, what I want to know is on my friends 1.6s leon it tells him what radio station the radio is on displayed on the dash board, my motor has the same two bars on the dash but there not lit up, is this right????

the two bars, is for radio display and the auto transmission gear status.
i think only thearly model display the radio, but now they dont!

Only very, very early models had this. Before the LCR was launched they were removed but the two little bars on the dashed stayed, with no purpose.

My dad's Toledo V5 has this function, always thought it was a shame they didn't continue the feature

You'd have to be mad to do it, but ...

the display comes from a little white box inside the instrument cluster which *appears* to be self sufficient - that is, it seems to take it's power from the radio

so you could retro-fit one, if you were desperate to spend the money on an old dash and some of the wiring
