Umm i left them. Basically the wires that got to the tweeter has some sort of connect that goes into the tweeter. So i cut that connect off to expose the wires and so i could connect the new tweeters. The wires to the door are still there.

my solution to dash speakers:
Remove them and put your tweeters in as above
Im thinking of replacing the tweeter with some 9/10cm speakers.

fit nicely here, not even screwed in and they dont rattle. (please excuse the tax holder
