Pff that sucks, time for a new dealer 🙈 It would've cost them 1 phone call like: "Hello @Mr Pig,the splash guards are gone, we recommend replacing them, is that ok?"
Honestly, they are useless. Had multiple issues with them going back years. Very reluctant to use them but I thought they'd get this easily enough. And they charge £130 an hour for diagnostics! £130 to find nothing.

The rear disks and pads were replaced by the dealer exactly one year ago. That guard must have been in a bad way then, and they've just left it. They had the brakes off, the guard only costs twenty-odd quid. How hard would it have been to give me a call and offer to replace it? My thought is that they would have to wait for the parts and didn't want to be held up so just left it.

Honestly, they are useless. My daughter's Ateca was in today because she keeps getting a headlight leveling system error, pings most days. Couldn't find anything wrong and still charged £130 for an hours labor. I asked them what they checked, basically nothing. Unless the computer tells them exactly what bit to replace they're stuck.

That is why I use an independent VAG garage.
